RRB NTPC Recruitment 2024: Check these quotas available in Railway jobs

RRB NTPC Recruitment 2024: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will conduct the exams for the undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) posts soon. The RRB NTPC UG, PG exam dates once announced, will be available on the official website- rrbapply.gov.in. The candidates who are preparing for NTPC exams should know that the candidates belong to reserved categories- SC, ST, OBC, other fields- sports persons will get additional benefits in marks, cut-off at the time of recruitment for NTPC posts.

Here are the quotas available for NTPC recruitment- Reserved categories (SC/ ST/ OBC), Physically Handicapped (PH), Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Ex-Servicemen quota, Cultural-cum-Scouts quota. Other job quotas available for Indian Railway recruitment is General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE).

RRB NTPC Recruitment 2024: Quotas in Indian Railway jobs

Scheduled Caste (SC): A total of 15 per cent of the total sanctioned posts is reserved under Scheduled Caste (SC) quota. The candidates who wish to apply under SC reservation need to produce the following category certificate to avail benefits in railway jobs.

Scheduled Tribe (ST): Under Scheduled Tribe (ST) quota, a total of 7.5 per cent of the posts remain reserved. The candidates belong to ST category should produce category certificates on the same to avail the benefits in railway jobs under the category

Other Backward Classes (OBC): The OBC reservation quota in railway jobs is 27 per cent. To avail OBC reservation, the annual income of the parents for the last three consecutive years should be less than Rs 8 lakh.

Physically Handicapped (PH)/ PwBD: Three per cent quota is reserved for persons having disabilities in railway jobs. The candidates having low vision or blindness, hearing impairment, cerebral palsy, and locomotor disability come under the PH/ PwBD category.

EWS quota: The annual income of a family below Rs 8 lakh can avail benefits under EWS quota. Around 10 per cent of the seats are reserved under EWS reservation.

Ex-Servicemen quota: The candidates who were earlier associated with Indian Armed Forces can apply under Ex-Servicemen quota. The candidates need to file a declaration for jobs under Ex-Servicemen quota and should provide relevant documents regarding the same.

RRB NTPC exam is likely to be held between December and January. The NTPC admit card once released, will be available on the official website- rrbapply.gov.in. The log-in credentials required are- application number, date of birth.

The NTPC paper will consist of Maths, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness sections. Section-wise, there are 30 questions in the Maths section, General Intelligence and Reasoning- 30 questions, General Awareness- 40 questions. In the NTPC stage 2 exam, there will be 35 questions in Maths, General Intelligence and Reasoning- 35 questions, General Awareness- 50 questions.
