Hasan misses run-out and hit SA batter with a critical hit
Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud missed a chance of run-out during Day 2 of the 1st Test against South Africa. Hasan missed the stumps by a long margin and hit South African batter Dane Piedt on his hip.
This happened during the 69th over of the first inning of South Africa. Piedt attempted a full toss delivery. The bowler stopped the ball. Kyle Verreynne was at the non-striker’s end and kept his bat in the crease but Piedt tried for a run. When he saw Kyle stood still, he started running back to his own crease.
As Piedt was short of the crease, Mahmud did not have to make a direct hit and just make wicketkeeper stump him out, but he still did so. However, his throw was far away from his target and hit the batter instead. Wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das was not happy with this throw.
