MCC NEET PG: SC to hear plea on result transparency tomorrow, counselling dates soon
New Delhi: The Supreme Court will hear The Medical Council Committee National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (MCC NEET PG) 2024 result transparency petition tomorrow, October 25. Once the case is resolved, the committee will likely announce the NEET PG counselling dates. Candidates can check the counselling schedule on the official website of the committee at mcc.nic.in, after the announcement.
The counselling is conducted for admission to the All India Quota (AIQ) seats in Master of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Diplomate of National Board (DNB) and postgraduate diploma courses.
Demands by petitioners on NEET PG
The petitioners are demanding the publication of NEET PG question papers and answer key, along with the release of the raw scores stating that it is important for transparency and fairness, particularly because of the sudden changes in the NEET PG paper pattern just a few days before the exam. Moreover, the petitioners have raised concerns about the transparency in the normalization process, asking for clarification from the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) on it.
NEET PG counselling registration
The NEET PG counselling registration process for All India Quota (AIQ) commenced on September 20. The counselling schedule will include the registration, seat allotment, results and reporting dates. The NEET PG counselling includes four rounds- round 1, round 2, round 3 and a stray vacancy round.
Candidates who will complete the registration will have to exercise options and lock choices. Once done, the seat allotment process will be conducted. Candidates allotted a seat will have to upload the required documents on the MCC website. The seat allotted candidates must report to the designated college with original documents to complete the verification process. Those allotted a seat in round 1 can opt to exit and participate in round 2.
