Bilawal Links nephew’s birth to historic 26th amendment passage
On the same day that the 26th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari linked his nephew’s birth to it.
On October 20, the day of the constitutional milestone, Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari gave birth to her third son.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Bilawal led the National Assembly in passing the 26th Constitutional Amendment with a two-thirds majority.
Bilawal reflected on the heritage of his grandfather Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on social media by sharing this important coincidence. He brought up the epitaph on Zulfikar Bhutto’s gravestone, which called him “a poet and a revolutionary” for his accomplishments.
Bilawal saw the adoption of the amendment and the birth of his nephew as evidence of divine justice for his family.
He wanted to see Pakistan changed so that everyone, including his nephew, wouldn’t have to deal with the past injustices or institutional failures.
Bakhtawar Bhutto announced her newborn son’s name as “Mir Zulfikar Mahmood Chaudhry,” honoring her grandfather’s legacy.
Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Bakhtawar’s grandfather, held high offices like Prime Minister and shaped Pakistan’s constitutional framework.
Zulfikar Bhutto is remembered as “Quaid-e-Awam” for his leadership, promoting justice and equality for the people.
Bakhtawar married businessman Mahmood Chaudhry in November 2020, welcoming their first son, Mir Hakim, in October 2021.
The couple’s second son, Mir Sijawal, was born in October 2022, and their third son arrived in October 2023.
The Bhutto family’s history of political leadership and public service continues to shape Pakistan’s evolving narrative today.
