Manoj Tiwary expressed his frustration over being dropped from the Indian team, reflecting on the sadness of his truncated career while sharing positive experiences from playing alongside cricket legends in the Legends League.

New Delhi: Manoj Tiwary recently shared his thoughts on being dropped from the Indian team. The former batter, who made his debut under MS Dhoni, had a brief international career, featuring in only a limited number of matches for the Men in Blue before ultimately deciding to retire.

Tiwary waited patiently and finally scored his first ODI century against the West Indies in 2011. However, to everyone’s surprise, he was not selected for the next match and had to endure a long eight-month wait before wearing the Indian colors again. Ultimately, he played only 12 ODI matches and did not hesitate to express his frustration over the situation.

In an interaction with Cricket Addictor, Manoj Tiwary subtly criticized MS Dhoni and the selectors for prematurely ending his international career.

He said, “See, it happened a long time ago. It’s a matter of the past, but yes, dukh to hota hi hai (It was sad). I would lie if I said it wasn’t saddening. What can we do? It’s life; but it needs to move forward. If I am to write my autobiography or I do a podcast of my own, I will reveal it all. But it wasn’t easy. When a player is at his peak, when his confidence is crushed, it causes a change in mindset.”

Tiwary participated in the Legends League Cricket, where he had the opportunity to play alongside notable cricketers like Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha for the Manipal Tigers in the tournament.

He further added, “Feels great. I have played with most of them at some point on my career. These are legends whom we have seen growing up, so to play with them is a nice feeling. Even some of the players who announced their retirements slightly earlier, I would say, have joined the Legends League, so it’s always a warm feeling to reunite with them and playing.”
