Highest T20I Score Record: Zimbabwe made the highest score in T20, broke Team India's world record, watch video

Cricket News Desk. This has become a new record for the highest score in the history of T20 International cricket and this has not been done by big teams like India, Australia or England. A few days ago, Team India was close to making this record by scoring 297 runs, but after 11 days finally this record was made. This record has been made by Zimbabwe. Sikandar Raza's Zimbabwe cricket team has set a new world record by scoring 344 runs in 20 overs against Gambia. Earlier this record was in the name of Nepal which had scored 314 runs against Mongolia.

These days, qualifier matches of the Africa sub-region of the Men's T20 World Cup are being played in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. In this qualifier tournament, Zimbabwe and Gambia faced each other on Wednesday 23 October. Now it was almost certain that an inexperienced team like Gambia would not be able to stand against Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe would win easily but what happened on the field was not expected.

Sikandar Raza's century broke the record
In this match, Zimbabwe batted first and their batsmen took advantage of this easy opportunity and scored runs. This time only Dion Myers failed but all the other batsmen scored runs. Openers Brian Bennett and T Marumani together scored 98 runs in 5.4 overs. Marumani was out after scoring 62 runs in just 19 balls. Bennett also scored 50 runs in 26 balls but captain Sikandar Raza stole the real show. Zimbabwe's most experienced and seasoned all-rounder destroyed Gambia's bowlers by hitting fours and sixes with his bat.

Sikandar completed his century in just 33 balls, which is a new record for the fastest century among ICC Full Member teams in T20 Internationals. He has broken the records of former Indian captain Rohit Sharma and South Africa's David Miller. Both scored centuries in 35 balls. Raja made a partnership of 141 runs in 40 balls with Clive Madande to take the team to a world record score of 344 in 20 overs. In this way, he broke the world record of 314 runs made by Nepal in the Asian Games last year. Whereas among the full member countries, this record was in the name of Team India which had scored 297 runs against Bangladesh.

New record of most sixes
Zimbabwe's batsmen hit a lot of sixes in this innings. Captain Sikandar Raza hit the maximum of 15 sixes. Apart from this, 7 fours also came from his bat. Madande, who scored 55 runs on 17 balls, also hit 5 sixes, while Marumani hit 4 sixes. Overall, Zimbabwe hit 27 sixes in this innings and also broke Nepal's world record (26) in this matter.
