24-hour surveillance on Salman Khan, why is Lawrence Bishnoi gang targeted?

Maharashtra Police believes that around 70 members of his gang are keeping an eye on Salman Khan 24 hours. Lawrence had announced that he would kill Salman Khan between August 2023 and April 2024. When this period ended, Maharashtra Police heaved a sigh of relief. In this case, Nationalist Congress President Baba Siddiqui was shot dead in Mumbai on the night of 12 October. After this, the Maharashtra government has again tightened the security of actor Salman Khan.

In 1998, Salman Khan participated in the shooting of a Hindi film in the forests of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. On September 28 of the same year, he was caught in a complaint of poaching a rare species of deer called 'Singara'. Salman Khan, who was arrested on 12 October 1998, got bail. Three cases, including those under Wildlife Protection and Arms Prohibition Act, were registered against him and those cases were heard in the Jodhpur district court. In one of these cases, actor Salman Khan was sentenced to five years and was lodged in Jodhpur jail.

After this Salman Khan appealed in Rajasthan High Court and he again got bail. Also, in two cases he was acquitted on the grounds that there was no evidence against him. The Rajasthan government appealed against this in the Supreme Court. On the orders of the Supreme Court, these cases are being heard again in the Rajasthan court. In this case, Lawrence Bishnoi, who appeared for the hearing of a case in Rajasthan High Court in 2018, had said for the first time that he wanted to kill Salman. Since then, Salman Khan is under constant threat from Lawrence Gang.

However, last April also two people had opened fire at Salman Khan's house in Mumbai and escaped. At that time, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had also gone to Salman Khan's house and expressed hope that he would wipe out the Lawrence Gang. Later, after the murder of Baba Siddiqui by Lawrence Gang, there is a fear that the threat to Salman Khan will increase. Actor Salman Khan's Galaxy Apartment complex in Bandra, Mumbai has been converted into a police barrack. Apart from the existing security police, additional forces have been deployed. Modern CCTV cameras have also been installed to increase surveillance. A ban has also been imposed on sitting outside his home premises.

Police are recording details of people coming and going at Galaxy Apartment. Salman Khan's father used to go for a walk in the area early in the morning. Mumbai Police has asked them to leave it for a few days. Actor Salman Khan has also been given Y-Plus security by the Central Government. A total of 11 security guards are involved in this. These also include two skilled commandos with gun training. As soon as Salman Khan comes out, a police car follows him. It is also advised to inform the police station in advance and secure the shooting area where Salman Khan is going.

Actor Salman Khan has been advised not to meet anyone for a few days and not to go out much. This level of security continues even when Salman Khan visits his Navi Mumbai farmhouse. After the murder of Baba Siddiqui, Shubu Longar had warned on his Facebook page that we will not spare those who helped DCompany Dawood and actor Salman Khan. He belongs to the Lawrence gang and is the brother of one of the five accused in the Baba Siddiqui murder case. Police is searching for him also. Lawrence had planned to kill actor Salman Khan because of the Bishnoi community. This community, mostly living in Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi and UP, worships animals and trees.

Especially the Bishnoi community gives great importance to 'Singara' deer. In such a situation, Lawrence has targeted Salman Khan due to his complaint against 'Singara' deer hunting. So far, five members of Lawrence Gang have been arrested on charges of attempting to murder Salman Khan. Five of them are below 18 years of age. The accused said that Lawrence had promised to pay Rs 25 lakh for the murder of Salman Khan. In this regard, Maharashtra Police has filed a charge sheet in the court. It is also mentioned that Lawrence has given Türkiye's Zigana pistol to kill Salman Khan. Lawrence's gang had also shot dead Punjab's famous singer Sidhu Moosewala with a similar pistol. In such a situation, saving Salman Khan from Lawrence Gang has become a big challenge for Maharashtra Police.
