Deal signed between Tata Power and Keppel, will soon provide cooling service

New Delhi : An agreement has been signed between Tata Power's subsidiary company Tata Power Trading Company and Singapore's Keppel Limited. These two companies have entered into this deal to provide energy efficiency and low cost space cooling services. This service has been named 'Cooling-as-a-Service'.

Both the companies have said in a joint statement that under this, while Keppel, which specializes in environment-friendly solutions, will provide the equipment, Tata Power Trading Company will look after the work of electricity management along with providing green energy. 'Cooling-as-a-Service' i.e. CaaS is a business model.

Inexpensive and less energy efficient

Under this, customers can avail cooling services on payment basis without investing in space cooling equipment and related basic infrastructure. In this model, the service provider provides and operates the cooling equipment and the customer pays for it based on usage. This makes the cooling system cheaper and less energy consuming.
