Make 'Mawa Gujiya' on Diwali, know its easy recipe

Diwali Recipes 2024: Everyone eagerly waits for the festival of Deepotsav which lasts for five days. This is a festival in which people celebrate not only with their families but also with their friends, relatives and neighbours. There is also a tradition of preparing different types of dishes in homes during this festival.

In such a situation, the festival of Diwali seems incomplete without Gujiya. Mawa Gujiya is specially prepared on this occasion, which is not only delicious but also wins everyone's heart due to its special texture. Here we will tell you the simple method of making Mawa Gujiya, which you can easily make at home.

Know the ingredients of Mawa Gujiya

Flour: 2 cups

Khoya (Mawa): 1 cup

Sugar: 2 cups

Ghee: 1 cup (for frying)

Cardamom powder: 1 tsp

Almonds (finely ground): 1 tsp

Know the recipe to make Mawa Gujiya

You can follow these steps which are very easy.

1- To make Mawa Gujiya, add sugar and required amount of water in a vessel. Keep it on low flame on the gas and keep stirring with a spoon until the sugar dissolves. When the sugar dissolves completely, increase the flame and boil the syrup. After boiling, turn off the gas.

2-After that, first of all, take flour in a vessel and add half cup of ghee in it. Add required amount of water and knead well. Keep the dough covered for half an hour. Lightly fry the mawa in a pan on low flame.

When the color of mawa turns light brown, turn off the gas and keep it to cool.

3-When it cools down, add almonds, cardamom powder and a cup of sugar to the mawa. Make small balls of the kneaded dough and roll them into rounds.

Put prepared mawa filling in between these cylinders. With the help of gujiya making container, shape the edges of the gujiya properly.

4- Put ghee in a pan and heat it on low flame. Put the gujiyas in hot ghee and cook until their color turns golden brown.

5- Take out the Gujiya and keep it on a paper towel to absorb the excess ghee. Serve gujiya hot. If you want, you can also serve them by dipping them in syrup. This sweet is best to share the happiness of Diwali.
