Reliance and Nvidia will build AI infrastructure in India

Mumbai/New Delhi, 24 October (HIST). Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and US company Nvidia, a leader in artificial intelligence computing, will build AI infrastructure in India. The two companies have signed an agreement to create AI computing infrastructure and an innovation hub in India.

This was announced by Nvidia Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jensen Huang during a chat session with Mukesh Ambani at the Nvidia AI Summit 2024 held in Mumbai. Jensen Huang said his company has signed an agreement with Mukesh Ambani's company Reliance Industries Limited to build AI computing infrastructure and an innovation center in India. RIL Chairman said that Jio has now become the world's largest data company. He said the new flagship data center of Reliance Industries will use the latest Nvidia Blackwell AI chips. The partnership between Reliance and Nvidia aims to build a strong AI infrastructure in the country.

The CEO of Nvidia Corp, the leading global artificial intelligence (AI) chip company, said that Reliance and Nvidia will together create artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure in India. At the AI ​​Summit, Ambani and Huang discussed India's transformative potential in AI and its emerging role as a global leader in the field. Reliance chief Mukesh Ambani said in a press conference organized on the occasion that India will start with the best product from Nvidia. Huang said that this partnership will also create applications that Reliance can provide to consumers in India. He said that under this collaboration we will also open an innovation centre.

It is noteworthy that Nvidia already has presence in six locations in India. Nvidia's designing is done in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune. India is already world class in chip designing. This announcement by Nvidia may increase further.
