New Delhi: The tragic demise of ex-One Direction singer Liam Payne has sent shockwaves through the entertainment world, leaving fans heartbroken. As tributes continue to pour in from around the globe, investigations into the concerning circumstances of his passing have intensified.
According to the Associated Press, Argentina’s police reportedly raided the Buenos Aires hotel where the 31-year-old star stayed before his death last week. The raid took place on Wednesday (October 23, 2024). The action was taken following orders from the public prosecutor’s office. During the operation, police special investigations units seized items including computer hard drives and footage from hotel security cameras.

For the unversed, Liam breathed his last on October 16, 2024, after falling from the third-floor balcony in Buenos Aires’ Palermo district. His autopsy report revealed that he died from multiple injuries, including both internal and external bleeding caused by the fall. His body was discovered in the hotel’s internal courtyard.
Liam Payne’s cause of death
Initial investigations suggest that the renowned songwriter was alone at the time of the incident. He was reportedly experiencing a ‘breakdown’ linked to substance use. At the same time, it is to be noted that the specific substances have yet to be confirmed.
A preliminary toxicology report indicated the presence of cocaine in his system. However, there is no official confirmation about the same so far. Fans have gathered in large numbers outside The Casa Sur hotel to pay their last respects to Liam, who travelled to Argentina to attend Horan’s concert on October 2, 2024.
