Warner recently presented his appeal before a three-member independent panel, where it was found that he fulfills all the conditions required to lift the ban.

This ban was imposed due to the ball tampering scandal during the Cape Town Test against South Africa in 2018, in which Warner, then captain Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft were found guilty. After this incident, Warner and Smith were banned for 12 months, while Bancroft was banned for 9 months. Also, Warner was banned for life from captaincy.

Warner retired this year

Recently, after the hearing, the panel agreed that Warner would not repeat any such wrong behavior in future. Warner retired from cricket after the ICC T20 World Cup this year. However, he had expressed his desire to return to Test cricket in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which CA did not take seriously.
