Bihar Smart Meter: In Katihar, Bihar, a family found it difficult to install a smart meter. Here in Kodha block area, a consumer has received an electricity bill of Rs 18 lakh 56 thousand 132 for the last four months. Not only this, the electricity department disconnected the electricity connection of the house. After which the consumer's family is troubled.

According to the information, the matter is of ward number 12 of North Simaria Panchayat of Kodha block area, where consumer Makku Tudu has received an electricity bill of Rs 18 lakh 56 thousand 132 for the last four months. The consumer's family says that in the month of August this year, the postpaid meter was removed and a prepaid meter was installed. After which the electricity bill for the last two months was outstanding, in lieu of which the department received so much bill that the electricity connection was disconnected. At the same time, the problems of consumers have increased.

People of Ward No. 12 allege that such high bills have arisen due to the negligence of the Electricity Department. Similar flaws are seen in the meters installed by the department. Consumer Makku Tudu has appealed to the electricity department officials to immediately review and improve the bill. However, no cognizance is being taken by the officials and employees of the electricity department.
