After a colleague accused Jani of sexual assault, the Narsingi police of the Cyberabad Commissionerate booked him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in September. During her six years of employment with the choreographer, the 21-year-old victim claimed that he had harassed and sexually attacked her.

According to the media report, C Pratap Reddy, Jani’s senior attorney, asserted that opinions regarding her age varied. Additionally, he remarked that neighbors’ remarks implied that they traveled freely together, pointing to a “consensual relationship.” Additionally, his lawyer contended that the complaint was submitted with “ulterior motives” and that the POCSO case was “uncalled for.”

Palle Nageshwar Rao, the public prosecutor, disagreed with the bail request, pointing out that the victim’s age would be ascertained over the course of the investigation.

Jani was granted conditional bail by Justice Juvvadi Sridevi on the condition to participate with the investigation of the case and show up for court hearings. He was also asked not to leave the country, speak to the media about the matter, or get in touch with the victim.
