Yashasvi Jaiswal becomes 2nd batter to reach massive feat, follows Joe Root on his footsteps

Indian star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has become the second batter to reach 1000 runs in Test cricket in 2024. The left-handed batter reached this feat during Day 2 of the 2nd Test match between India and New Zealand at the Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium in Pune.

Joe Root is the player who tops the list with 1305 runs in 14 Tests at an average of 59.31, 5 centuries, and 4 half centuries.

Jaiswal has collected 1007 runs in 10 Tests at an average of 59.23 and a strike rate of 75.88. It can be said without a doubt, Jaiswal has had a marvelous season in Test cricket.

Though he had a good start but failed to deliver a big knock, Jaiswal is yet to score big number in the current series against New Zealand. He has scored 13 and 35 runs in the first Test at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Following that, in the opening innings of the second Test, Jaiswal looked like he would be in good form, but got dismissed once again.
