DA Hike: Double gift to government employees on Diwali, after bonus, dearness allowance also increased

DA increase on Diwali: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given a big gift to the state government employees and pensioners on the occasion of Diwali. The state government has announced a three percent increase in the dearness allowance (DA) of its employees and pensioners. With this increase, DA has now increased to 53 percent. About 17 lakh state employees and teachers of Uttar Pradesh will benefit from this. Let us tell you that recently the UP government had also announced Diwali bonus.

This dearness allowance announced by the UP government will be applicable from July 1. At the same time, it will be added to the salary received on 30 October 2024. Before this, recently the Central Government has also increased the dearness allowance of the employees by 3 percent.

Diwali bonus to Uttar Pradesh employees also

Talking about Diwali bonus, under this the employees will get Rs 6908 along with salary. However, only 25 per cent of the bonus amount i.e. Rs 1727 will be given in cash, while the remaining 75 per cent will be deposited in their General Provident Fund (GPF) accounts. This month's increased salary and bonus payment will put an additional financial burden of Rs 1022 crore on the state government.

Employees and officers get salary hike once a year and DA hike twice. Generally DA increases between January to July, while salary increases in July or January.

Increase in dearness allowance in Arunachal Pradesh also

The Arunachal Pradesh government has approved a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for regular employees and pensioners. This will be effective from July 1, 2024. This hike will increase the existing DA and DR rates from 50% to 53%, benefiting more than 68,818 state employees. Deputy Chief Minister Chauna Mein made this announcement on October 23.
