Arsenal, Liverpool ‘keeping tabs’ on Real Madrid star

Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly keen to sign Real Madrid attacker Arda Guler, who is struggling to find regular game time at Santiago Bernabeu.

Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid attacker Arda Guler.

The Turkey international has been linked with a return to Fenerbahce after he left the Turkish club for Real Madrid in the summer of 2023.

Guler has experienced a frustrating time since making the move to the Santiago Bernabeu, including a lengthy spell on the sidelines in his first season with the Spanish club.

The 19-year-old has also struggled to force his way into Carlo Ancelotti‘s plans, having been forced to settle for just three starts in 11 competitive appearances this season.

Despite his lack of playing time, Guler is believed to be keen to remain in the Spanish capital and fight for his place in Ancelotti’s starting lineup.

Arsenal, Liverpool keen on Guler

While Guler is happy to stay with Real Madrid, his current playing situation has seemingly caught the attention of two Premier League giants.

According to Caught OffsideArsenal and Liverpool both remain keen on Guler after previously sending scouts to watch him in action at Euro 2024.

The report claims that Arsenal and Liverpool would be willing to make a move if Real Madrid decide to entertain a potential departure.

Real Madrid have previously indicated that they have no desire to part ways with the teenager, but it remains to be seen whether they will soften their stance if Guler continues to be a squad player at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Why are Arsenal and Liverpool interested in Guler?

Guler can operate as a number ten or as a winger, and his ability to play on the flanks may appeal to Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners are seemingly keen to strengthen their wide options to help reduce the demands on England international Bukayo Saka.

Meanwhile, Liverpool appear to be looking for potential attacking reinforcements in case Mohamed Salah leaves the club at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old forward is out of contract next summer and is yet to put pen to paper on a fresh deal with the Merseyside club.
