Pet Friendly Diwali: This Diwali, along with your happiness, take care of everyone's safety, know what is 'Animal Friendly Diwali'

Pet Friendly Diwali

Pet Friendly Diwali : The festival of Diwali is a symbol of light, happiness and joy. But this happiness should be equal for everyone. If someone faces any problem because of celebrating our festival, then that happiness is meaningless. With this principle, awareness about 'Pet-Friendly Diwali' is increasing these days. 'Animal-Friendly Diwali' is an initiative being taken by a lot of animal lovers, NGOs and environmentalists to promote a Diwali filled with peace and sensitivity.

Over the past few years, it has come to light that not only humans but also animals have to face a lot of trouble due to the noise and pollution of firecrackers. The impact of firecracker explosions and the harmful smoke emanating from them is more serious on animals because their hearing and smelling abilities are generally better than that of humans. That is why they are more sensitive to pollution and the way to celebrate Diwali without hurting them is called 'pet friendly Diwali'.

The safety and health of animals is also given priority in 'Animal-Friendly Diwali'. It is a sensitive and empathetic initiative, making the festival a joyous occasion for all. Be it a human being or an animal. There is also a new approach to celebrating the festival, which makes us realize our duties towards nature and animals. Under this concept, people reduce or completely abandon the use of firecrackers so that Diwali can be celebrated peacefully and with sensitivity towards animals. The noise of firecrackers and the pollution caused by them are painful not only for humans but also for animals.

PETA India has many times stressed that firecrackers should not be used on festivals like Diwali as it has a negative impact on the mental and physical health of animals. The guidelines and suggestions given by PETA are working in support of animal-friendly Diwali. At the same time, Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) also appeals for sensitivity towards animals during Diwali. The awareness campaigns run by them explain how firecrackers harm animals. Blue Cross India is also an organization which is engaged in spreading awareness for the care and safety of animals during Diwali and other festivals.

Importance of animal-friendly Diwali

Most animals have better hearing than humans, so the noise from firecrackers is more troublesome for them. Many times, due to this noise, pets and animals living on the streets feel stressed, afraid, and nervous. The smoke and pollutants emitted from firecrackers not only pollute the environment but are also harmful for the health of both humans and animals. This can cause difficulty in breathing, eye irritation and other problems to the animals. Many times there are incidents of animals getting burnt or injured due to firecrackers. Through animal-friendly Diwali, people can reduce such dangers.

Animal-Friendly Ways to Celebrate Diwali

Decoration with lamps and candles : Use lamps, candles and LED lights instead of firecrackers to decorate homes. This is a safe option not only for the environment but also for animals.
spending time at animal shelters : People can take out time to love and care for their family relatives as well as animals. If you love animals then you can visit a nearby animal shelter or help the needy animals.
Awareness on social media : Through social media, people are promoting the concept of animal-friendly Diwali and inspiring others to take care of the safety of their pets as well as the animals living on the streets.
