“I don’t reply to nasty stuff as my fans are enough to take care of it”: MS Dhoni

Chennai Super Kings star player MS Dhoni has opened up on the Thala for a Reason meme, which is viral on social media. Dhoni is called Thala by his fans. Thala means head or leader in Tamil. The veteran was not sure whether it was for a banter purpose or not. Dhoni mentioned that his fans have turned the trend in his favour.

He heaped massive praise on his fans, saying that they take care of the criticism that comes his way.

MSD attended an event called Rigi Prabhav 2024 and was asked about the Thala for a Reason trend.

“I don’t know the reason behind it, but I am aware that it is viral on social media. I don’t know whether it was started to pull my leg. However, the fans have turned in my favour. I have a loyal fan base, and I don’t need to open my mouth or say anything. If somebody says nasty stuff about me, they take care of it. I sleep quietly, enjoy my life, and play good cricket,” he said.

Dhoni also confirmed that he wants to enjoy the next few years as a cricketer, signalling that he is willing to don the CSK jersey in IPL 2025. He has been battling injuries for the past two seasons, but the right-handed batter is ready to give another shot. The re-introduction of the uncapped player rule has made the situation easy for the star player and the franchise, as he can be retained for INR 4 crore.
