Terror due to suicide attack in Pakistan, 8 including 6 security personnel killed

Islamabad : A suicide attack on Saturday, October 26, in Pakistan's restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province created panic among security forces. At least eight people, including six law enforcement personnel, were killed and several others injured in the attack. The blast occurred at the Aslam check post in Mir Ali tehsil of North Waziristan tribal district, which is located near the border with Afghanistan.

According to sources, the attackers had come riding in three-wheelers. They exploded after hitting a check post and security forces vehicles, killing four policemen, two soldiers and two civilians. The injured have been admitted to Miran Shah Hospital. Experts say that the number of casualties may increase further.

There has been an increase in terrorist activities in Pakistan since the Taliban returned to power. Terrorist incidents have increased rapidly since 2021, especially in border provinces like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. This month, nearly a dozen terrorists were killed by security forces during anti-militancy operations in North Waziristan district.

According to a recent report, a 90 percent increase in terrorist violence has been recorded in Pakistan in the third quarter of 2024. The report released by the Center for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) said that the total deaths in the three quarters of this year have exceeded the total deaths recorded in 2023, with a combined 722 deaths of civilians, security personnel and criminals. Are included.

About 97 percent of these deaths have occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the highest in the last decade. The security situation in Pakistan is continuously deteriorating. In such a situation, this new attack has made the situation more serious, due to which concerns about the safety of citizens have increased.
