Importance of Sports in India

Importance of Sports in India: The great football player Pele had said, 'Sports is the mirror of life. It teaches us fight, struggle and victory and defeat. It is important to make children understand that sports is not just a medium to win, but it is also a way to struggle and recognize the courage hidden within them.

You will play, you will jump, you will become bad
You will study and write and you will become a Nawab.

This saying is not proving true in today's time. There are many players who, of course, are not doing very well in studies but are bringing glory to the country and their family by winning very smartly on the sports field.

The digital age has taken children away from wet soil and outdoor games and confined them to the phone screen. Nowadays children have got mobile phones ahead of time, in which they have started playing games on the phone while sitting at home. There would be only a few children who would go to the park with friends in the evening carrying a gilli danda or a bat. Now the sound of children playing in the neighborhood is rarely heard. The device called mobile has taken away playing and jumping from children.
Such questions must have come to everyone's mind after the Olympic Games that why our country's performance is not so good. Before blaming the government, we must assess ourselves as to how much we encourage our children to play. Be sure to limit how much time you give your children to play in 24 hours. There is not much enthusiasm for sports even in school. Sometimes there is a tournament once a year and apart from that, there is nothing special about sports in schools throughout the year.

Even today many parents do not encourage their children to choose sports as a career. They believe that one can get a good job by studying. Unless children are encouraged to play at home, our country will not be able to perform better in games like the Olympics.
The second and biggest reason is that apart from cricket, there are very few sports whose players are provided adequate facilities. Poor people are not able to train their children for expensive sports.
In our country, cricket stadiums are built one after the other but the rest are not for sports and if there are two then entry is prohibited for the general public. In such a situation, where can talent come from?
School! Education is not going well there, where water is still coming from the roofs of government schools during the rains and there is a lack of basic facilities for children; developing sports culture there seems far-fetched.

Encourage children to play along with studies. Encourage children to play from the age of 5 years. Only when parents play with their children will the children show interest in sports. The biggest examples for children are their parents. If you are the one playing on the phone then why won't the children play again? On holidays, take children with you to the park and ask them to play outdoor games. They will become friends and understand teamwork which will be useful in their future life. When they develop the habit of winning and losing from the beginning, they will never face any problems in life. Manu Bhaker is an inspiration for all those girls who want to make the country proud by making a place for themselves in the field of sports.
Bhakar, at the age of 14, asked his father to pick up a pistol and decided to pursue a career in shooting and today he won a bronze medal for the country at the Paris Olympics.
Bhakar had said in an interview that whatever I am today, my mother has a big role in it, it is because of her that my interest in sports developed. My mother's childhood dream was to do something big in the field of sports but she did not get the opportunity, so she has always been motivating me to pursue it. The role of mother is always the most important for a child. To make the child's dream come true, both mother and father have to come forward.
International Olympic Committee member Nita Ambani, while congratulating the players who won medals for India on the last day of the Paris Olympics, said that we all have to contribute to make India a sports nation. He also said that legacy is not created overnight.
It is the responsibility of all of us to take our country to the sporting heights we want to reach. As parents, let us encourage our children to participate in sports. Make the Olympics an everyday reality, not a once-in-four-years dream. Let us build a nation where every child dares to dream and every athlete gets the support he or she needs to make India a truly global sporting superpower.
Mr. Shyam Sundar Sharma, Director of Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) says that Shefali Verma played for India at the age of 15. Seeing Shafali, today parents are motivating their daughters to choose cricket as a career, so if you want to get your daughter into cricket then first make her play in the cricket matches held in schools. After that, from the age of ten, they can send him to any cricket club or academy. There are more than 100 clubs in Delhi which are run by DDCA. Here there is no discrimination between boys and girls, hence they are made to practice together but the matches are separate. Make daughters empowered and strong by not making them touchy-feely.
To increase children's interest in sports, it is important to introduce them to different sports. Nowadays, apart from popular sports like cricket, football, badminton, children should also be introduced to other sports like swimming, table tennis or athletics. This helps children understand that they have so many options to play and they can choose any game as per their interest.
Nowadays, even young children are becoming victims of depression, the biggest reason for this is social pressure in which everyone has to move ahead and children are not able to accept any kind of defeat. These things should not bother them later, hence children should be involved in sports from the very beginning.

Famous Indian cricketer M.S. Dhoni says, 'Sports are not just about winning, they prepare us for every struggle in life.
To make children aware of sports, cooperation of family, teachers and society is necessary. Sports can motivate children towards living a positive and healthy life.
Let us build a nation where every child dares to dream and every athlete gets the support he or she needs to make India a truly global sporting superpower.
