DELHI Delhi: The hatchback segment saw a slight decline in sales in September 2024. According to SIAM data, the decline in sales in the hatchback segment has been offset by the increase in demand for micro-SUVs. Maruti Suzuki topped the sales charts of the hatchback segment and recorded both growth and decline for its various models. Hyundai Motor managed to break into the top five list of the sales charts in September 2024. Let's take a look at the top five best-selling hatchbacks in September 2024:
Maruti Suzuki Swift:
Maruti Suzuki Swift recorded total sales of 16,241 units in September 2024 and managed to hold the first position on the sales charts. Swift registered a growth of 10.46 percent on year-on-year basis and 26.45 percent on month-on-month basis. Recently, Maruti Suzuki introduced the CNG version of Swift in the market. Maruti Suzuki Baleno:
Maruti Suzuki's Baleno recorded total sales of 14,292 units in September 2024 and stood second on the hatchback sales chart. Maruti Suzuki Baleno registered a decline of 22.40 percent on year-on-year basis. In contrast, Baleno registered a growth of 14.47 percent on month-on-month basis.
Maruti Suzuki Wagon R:
Maruti Suzuki Wagon R recorded total sales of 13,339 units in September 2024 and secured the third position on the sales chart. Wagon R registered a decline of 17.91 percent on year-on-year basis and 18.91 percent on month-on-month basis.
Maruti Suzuki Alto:
Maruti Suzuki's Alto is an entry-level hatchback, which recorded total sales of 8,655 units in September 2024 and stood at the fourth position on the sales chart. Alto registered a growth of 11.09 percent on year-on-year basis and 1.28 percent on month-on-month basis.
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios:
The fifth position on the sales chart is secured by the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, which recorded total sales of 5,103 units in September 2024. The Grand i10 Nios declined by 2.30 percent on year-on-year basis and 4.88 percent on month-on-month basis.
