Vijay Stambh is a 122 feet high 9 storey structure, which is a very amazing and beautiful specimen of Indian and Rajputi architecture. In 1448, King Rana Kumbha of Mewar built this amazing structure under the guidance of the great architects of that time. The interior parts of the Vijay Stambh have sculptures of Hindu gods and goddesses, various incarnations of Vishnu and many characters from Ramayana and Mahabharata. Made of red sandstone and white marble, this nine-storey building is a complex geometric structure in itself.

There is a stone plaque inscribed on the upper floor of the Vijay Stambh, in which information about the rulers of Chittorgarh and their bravery is given. This amazing work was done by Rana Kumbha's court scholar Atri and his son Mahesh. The names of the architects who built this magnificent building are also engraved on the 5th floor of the pillar.
