New Delhi: In the 115th episode of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated India’s burgeoning creative industry, particularly in animation and gaming, while also warning citizens about the rising threat of “digital arrest” fraud.
PM Modi emphasised the significant progress being made under the ‘Made in India’ and ‘Made by India’ initiatives, highlighting that Indian animated series like Chhota Bheem, Krishna, Motu-Patlu, and Bal Hanuman are gaining global recognition. “India is on the way to bringing a revolution in the field of animation,” he said, noting that the country’s gaming space is also expanding rapidly, with Indian games becoming increasingly popular worldwide.
‘Stop, Think, Take Action’
The Prime Minister urged citizens to take precautions against digital fraud, specifically referencing scams related to “digital arrests”. He clarified that no legitimate investigative agency would ever contact individuals via phone or video call for inquiries. PM also stressed on the importance of awareness in protecting oneself from such scams, advising the public to adhere to the mantra: “Stop, Think, Take Action”.
Furthermore, Modi announced that the country would celebrate the 150th birth anniversaries of two prominent leaders, Sardar Patel and Bhagwan Birsa Munda. He said, “Both these great men had the same vision—the country’s unity,” highlighting the importance of their legacies in shaping modern India. The celebration of Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary will commence on October 31, followed by Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s anniversary starting on November 15.
Modi concluded by calling for a collective commitment to make India a global powerhouse in animation and reiterated the ongoing efforts of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, which he described as a people’s campaign aimed at self-reliance and economic empowerment.
