ISRO will jointly build Chandrayaan-5 mission with Japan

S Somnath said that the manned space mission Gaganyaan is likely to be launched in 2026. Also, Chandrayaan-4, the mission that will bring samples from the Moon, will be launched in the year 2028. There is a plan to launch NISAR, a joint operation between India and America, in the year 2025. ISRO Chief said that Chandrayaan-5 mission will be completed in collaboration with Japan's space agency JAXA. However, there is still time for this and it is expected to be launched only after the year 2028.

ISRO Chief said that Chandrayaan-5 Mission will be very important in terms of sending humans to the Moon. The rover that will be sent under the Chandrayaan-5 mission will weigh around 350 kg. Earlier, the rover sent in Chandrayaan-3 mission was only 27 kg. The lander of Chandrayaan-5 mission will be made by ISRO, while the rover, which will weigh 350 kg, will be made by Japan.
