UP News: A case of love jihad has come to light from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where a young man first lured the girl into a love trap by giving her a wrong name and then took her away from home. When the truth came before the girl, the young man forcibly converted her religion and married her. The young man himself revealed this during police interrogation. At present the police have arrested the accused youth and are investigating the matter.

Nihal cheated by pretending to be Nishant

According to the information received about the incident, a minor girl resident of Babupurwa was having a love affair with Nihal Khan. Nihal Khan befriended the girl by telling her his name was Nishant and then stalked her. On October 14, he seduced her and took her with him and then forcibly converted her religion and married her. No one should know about this. Therefore the accused also took the girl's phone. However, when the girl did not return home, her family lodged a complaint with the police. While investigating the case, the police arrested the accused and then interrogated him strictly.

During police interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime. The minor was also rescued from the boy and sent to his family. A case has been registered against the youth under sections of rape, POCSO Act and forced conversion.

The minor told that Nihal Khan had told him his name was Nishant and took him away from the house. After which she came to know that it was not Nishant but Nihal Khan and got her religion converted forcibly for marriage. The girl was not even being allowed to talk to her parents.
