New Delhi. There was chaos due to increase in crowd of passengers while boarding the train at Mumbai's Bandra Terminal Railway Station. This incident happened while boarding the Bandra-Gorakhpur train. During this stampede, 10 people were injured. Congress MP and opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has cornered the government on this incident. The recent stampede at Mumbai's Bandra Terminus station is the latest example of India's crumbling infrastructure, he said.

Rahul Gandhi wrote on social media X, inaugurations and campaigns are good only when there is a foundation behind them that actually works to serve the public. When people start losing their lives due to lack of maintenance and neglect of public property and bridges, platforms or statues start collapsing as soon as the ribbon is cut, it is a matter of grave concern.

The recent stampede at Mumbai's Bandra Terminus station is the latest in a string of India's crumbling infrastructure. In June last year, 300 people lost their lives in the Balasore train accident, but instead of giving compensation to the victims, the BJP government has embroiled them in a long legal battle. Just imagine, when even the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj falls in just 9 months, it clearly means that the intention was only publicity – there was neither respect for Shivaji Maharaj nor concern for public safety.
He also wrote, today the country needs an infrastructure of international standard that also takes care of the local needs of the poor – which keeps business simple, travel easy and people safe. India is capable, capable – we just need an effective and transparent system whose aim is public service and the focus is the foundation of the country's strong future.
