Being close to Pakistan proved costly for Turkey, India stopped entry into BRICS

New Delhi: India has banned Turkey's entry into BRICS. This claim was reported by a German newspaper Bild. It is said that Turkey could not get membership of Kibricks because of India. According to this, Turkiye had applied to become a group member. But it was rejected because of India.

Why did India reject it?

Actually, Turkey has close relations with Pakistan. He has also given statements against India several times on the Kashmir issue. Recently, during the 16th BRICS Summit held in Kazan, Russia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said in his statement that the plans of the organization should be made with the consensus of the founding countries.

The working efficiency of the organization should not be affected.

However, it is being speculated that after this statement of PM Modi, Turkey could not get the membership of BRICS due to India's opposition. In his speech during the BRICS Summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin also said that before including new countries, care will be taken that it does not affect the working capacity of the group. Because of this also new applications were postponed.

Four countries became members of the group this year

However, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan participated in the BRICS Plus summit held on October 24. At the beginning of this year, four new countries Ethiopia, Iran, Egypt and UAE were added to BRICS. In January, these four countries had joined this year's summit as members. Now the number of members of BRICS group has increased to 9.

Leaders of 24 countries took part in BRICS summit

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, during his visit the Prime Minister is likely to hold meetings with his counterparts from BRICS member countries in Kazan. Apart from this, bilateral meetings are also expected with the invited leaders. According to Russian President's Assistant Yuri Ushakov, leaders of 24 countries and delegations from a total of 32 countries will participate in the BRICS summit held in Kazan. In this way, it will become the largest foreign policy event ever organized in Russia.

About BRICS Summit

Initially BRICS was a group of five countries. This was a group of only Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. After this, in January this year, four more countries Saudi Arabia, Iran, United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia and Egypt joined the group. Now the number of group members has increased from 5 to 9.
