9 people injured in stampede at Mumbai's Bandra railway station

Latest News :- 9 people were injured in a stampede at Bandra Railway Station in Mumbai today (Sunday). The incident occurred at 5.56 am on platform 1 of the railway station when the Bandra-Gorapur Express arrived. The injured have been admitted to Baba Hospital for treatment. Birhanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said that there was crowd due to Diwali festival. The condition of seven of the injured is stable. Two people were injured.

Regarding the accident, Western Railway Chief Spokesperson Vineet Abhishek said that car number 22129 Ayodhya Express was brought to platform 1 of Bandra Terminus station at 2.30 am on Sunday. Then the passengers present on the platform tried to board the moving train. Two passengers fell and got injured.

Railway Police, GRP and Home Guards who were on duty at that time immediately reached the hospital and admitted the injured to Government Baba Hospital. Passengers are advised to avoid boarding or deboarding a moving train as it is dangerous. For the convenience of passengers on the occasion of Diwali and Shani festival, more than 130 festival special trains are being run in different parts of the country. He said.

Meanwhile, an eyewitness to the incident said, “Today when the Bandra-Gorakhpur train was coming, there was a jam at Mumbai Bandra Terminus because the number of people boarding the train had increased. The meeting suddenly became official. 9 people were injured in this. He said.
