Lahore: Pakistani showbiz industry’s popular actress Maira Khan has stated that Pakistan is an Islamic country and people have the full right to criticize short clothing.
In a podcast, the renowned actress and model shared her views on criticism within Pakistani society and on social media.
She remarked that Pakistan is an Islamic country and people here have the right to criticize artists for wearing revealing and tight clothes.
In response to a question, Maira Khan clarified that when an artist posts their photos or videos on social media, they should be prepared for public reaction.
She stated that when you make yourself “public property,” people have the right to criticize and handling that criticism is also the artist’s responsibility.
Maira Khan further added that some people make negative comments out of envy or jealousy and she has now adopted the practice of blocking such people to avoid negative impressions.
