East-Central Sudan: Fighters of notorious paramilitary force in Sudan killed 120 people, created chaos in towns
East-Central Sudan : The situation in East-Central Sudan is getting worse. Attacks by notorious paramilitary forces continue. According to reports, 'Rapid Support Forces' (RSF) fighters went on a rampage for several days, killing more than 120 people in one town. A group of doctors and the United Nations gave this information. This was the RSF's latest attack against the Sudanese army, which came after the army faced a series of setbacks in the region. This war, which has been going on for more than one and a half years, has devastated this African country, displacing a large part of its population. According to reports, the United Nations said in a statement on Saturday that the RSF Fighters rampaged through villages and towns in the eastern and northern parts of Gezira Province on 20–25 October, firing on civilians and sexually abusing women and girls. They also looted private and public properties including markets. These are heinous crimes, United Nations Humanitarian Aid Coordinator in Sudan Clementine Nqueta-Salami said in a statement on Saturday. “Women and children are bearing the brunt of a conflict that has already taken many lives,” he said.
