Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has taken major steps to stop fake calls and SMS, which November 1st Will be applicable from. This initiative will help protect users from fraud, who are often harassed due to fake calls and SMS.
TRAI has instructed all telecom operators to strictly implement these rules. Under these new rules, there may be some changes in the calling experience.
Many people misuse smartphones for nefarious purposes, and it has been observed that hackers engage in fraud such as draining bank accounts. To stop these activities, TRAI has made strict rules which will come into effect from next month.
Message Traceability Facility Too November 1st Will start from. If a user receives an unknown message, it can be investigated. Spam calls and messages will be identified through certain keywords, and if they fall in the category of fake or spam, they will be blocked. Users can also file a complaint against the sender of the message.
This step of TRAI has been taken because spam calls not only harass the users but also lead to fraud cases like banking fraud. TRAI aims to ensure the safety of users through this move.
