Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to give Diwali gift to the youth and elders of the country today i.e. on Tuesday (29 October). Prime Minister Modi will launch development projects worth about Rs 12,850 crore on Tuesday. In a separate programme, he will also hand over more than 51,000 appointment letters to youth under his government’s ‘Rozgar Mela’, an official statement said. PM Modi will also address the ‘Employment Fair’. PM Modi will give joining letters to more than 51,000 selected candidates through video conferencing at 10:30 am.

Prime Minister Modi is likely to launch health insurance for all citizens aged 70 years and above under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) on October 29. The Prime Minister will also launch the ‘U-WIN’ portal developed to maintain electronic registry of routine vaccination on the same day. The source said that apart from these two, some other projects will also be launched on Tuesday.

The ‘U-WIN’ platform has been developed to keep permanent digital records of vaccination of pregnant women as well as children from birth to 17 years of age under the Universal Immunization Programme.

“The Prime Minister may launch an extended scheme under the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme for people aged 70 years and above,” the source told PTI. “This will benefit approximately six crore citizens from approximately 4.5 crore families.”

Every person aged 70 years or above is eligible to obtain an Ayushman card and can receive free treatment up to Rs five lakh in any empaneled hospital under AB-PMJAY when the extended scheme is launched. A total of 29,648 hospitals, including 12,696 private hospitals, have been empaneled under PMJAY by September 1, 2024. The scheme is currently being implemented in 33 states and union territories except Delhi, Odisha and West Bengal. The source said that as per the age recorded in the Aadhaar card, any person aged 70 years or above will be eligible to apply for the scheme.
