Players cleaned the stadium after Diljit's concert in Delhi.
Photos and videos shared on social media showed garbage, spoiled food and broken equipment strewn across the stadium's running track. Middle distance runner Beant Singh shared his anger online, describing how the concert disrupted athletes' training. He said, “This is where we practice, but people came here, drank and partied. Now the stadium is a mess.” His post showed the athletes themselves picking up trash, further adding to the frustration over the lack of respect for sports facilities.
The situation after the concert was not limited to only mess. The stadium is expected to be closed for ten days for cleaning, meaning athletes will not be able to access the space they rely on for training. This has left athletes frustrated, feeling that their needs are always put at the back burner. Singh shared the sentiments of many in the sports community, saying, “People ask why India struggles to win medals, but that is how we are treated.”
Diljit's fans praised his performance and called it a great night. However, complaints surfaced about poor event management, with people citing disorganized entry and exit procedures, limited food and problems with ticket availability. Some fans also accused the organizers of selling tickets at high prices and a law student filed a legal complaint alleging violation of consumer rights.
