Turmoil continues in Pakistan cricket, 4 captains, 28 selectors and 8 coaches in 3 years, why PCB is bent on losing place

sports desk : Pakistan did not even get a chance to celebrate the series win against England when team coach Gary Kirsten resigned. Pakistan Cricket Board announced the team before the tour of Australia. In which wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan was made the new captain of the team. While Salman Aga was made the vice-captain.

The team has been announced first. In which the responsibility of captain was not given to anyone. However, after some time, PCB appointed Mohammad Rizwan as the white ball captain. A few hours later, team coach Gary Kirsten resigned from his post. Kirsten spent only 6 months with the team, while her tenure was of 2 years. With his departure it became clear that things are not going smoothly in Pakistan cricket.

Pakistan cricket in a phase of change since last 3 years

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ahsan Mani submitted his resignation in August 2021. After that, 4 chairmen have changed in the board. In which Rameez Raza, Najam Sethi, Zaka Ashraf and currently Mohsin Naqvi are holding the post of president. During this period, the selection process of Pakistan team also remained disorganized. In the last 3 years, coaches, captains, selectors and presidents are being changed continuously, it seems as if some drama is going on in Pakistan cricket.

In these three years, the team was selected by 28 different selectors. He changed captains continuously. Babar Azam was the captain in all three formats till some time ago but now Shan Masood has been given the captaincy for the Test match. Shaheen Afridi was given the captaincy of white ball but things did not work out between him and the board. He also immediately left the captaincy. Now Mohammad Rizwan has been made the new captain of white ball.

Amidst such constant changes, it remains to be seen how Pakistan cricket will regain its stability and perform with the new leadership in the coming matches.
