The Women's Big Bash League 2024 has started in Australia where the match was played between Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Sixers on Tuesday, 29 October. A very painful incident happened during this match. Actually, Adelaide Strikers wicketkeeper Bridget Patterson was hit by a ball in the eye, after which she was seen in a lot of pain.

This incident happened in the fourth over of the innings of Sydney Sixers. The pair of Alice Perry and Sarah Bryce were present on the field. On the other hand, Darcy Brown came to bowl this over for the Strikers. On the fifth ball of this over, Brown dodged Parry after which the ball went towards the wicketkeeper.

Before reaching the wicketkeeper, the ball took another hit and in the meantime it suddenly got a bounce. Wicketkeeper Bridget Patterson was not ready for this. He was not even wearing a helmet and the ball hit him hard on his face near his eyes. As soon as she was hit by the ball, she started writhing in pain. The female wicketkeeper lay down on the ground, after which the medical team came to the field for help. Due to such an injury, Bridget Patterson had to leave the field and she went out. This is the reason why this video is becoming quite viral.

If we talk about this match, then in the fifth match of the tournament, Adelaide Strikers won the match by defeating Sydney Sixers by 11 runs. Sydney Sixers won the toss and chose to bowl first at North Sydney Oval, after which Adelaide Strikers added 171 runs in 20 overs. In response, Perry (54) and Sarah Bryce (62) played brilliant half-centuries for Sydney Sixers, however, apart from them, no player could stay on the field for long, due to which they could score only 160 runs in 20 overs. They lost the match by 11 runs.
