Gujarat Titans, is a franchise that entered the Indian Premier League in the year 2022 and won its first title in the same year. Gujarat Titans won their title under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, but soon things changed and Hardik Pandya decided to part ways with GT and was traded to Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024. Now that the mega auction for IPL 2025 is approaching, Gujarat Titans have found the trio who are most likely to be retained.

An IPL source said the three players “Shubman, Rashid and Sai will be retained by the franchise”, PTI reported.

Shubhman Gill
India's rising batting talent Shubman Gill is going to be the first retention for Gujarat Titans as the IPL mega auction is set to take place soon. The right-handed opening batsman was made the captain of the Titans for IPL 2024 following Hardik Pandya's return to Mumbai Indians and he is being retained for ₹18 crore. For Gujarat Titans, Gill has scored 1799 runs in 45 matches, which includes 4 centuries and 10 half-centuries. In his IPL career, Gill has scored 3,216 runs in 103 matches.

Sai Sudarshan
According to PTI, apart from Gill, the franchise is most likely to retain brilliant left-handed batsman Sai Sudarshan. Overall he has scored 1034 runs in 25 matches at an average of 47.00, which includes 1 century and 6 half-centuries.

Sudarshan is likely to be retained after a remarkable season in which he scored 527 runs in 12 matches, including one century. He has already played three ODIs and one T20 for the national team.

Rashid Khan
It is no surprise that Rashid Khan will be retained as his record is excellent. In 2022, when the 26-year-old spinner made his debut and took 19 wickets, he took 27 wickets in the following season. This season, he took only 10 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 36.70.

Untapped talents Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan will most likely be part of the retention plan. Gill is also being seen as the future of Indian cricket leadership and has played his first game as captain of the Titans this season, leading them to the eighth position in the ten-match series.
