Be cautious about the Aarti of Goddess Lakshmi during Diwali puja, know the reason

Diwali 2024:The five-day festival of lights, Diwali, has started with Dhanteras. This time this festival is being celebrated on 31st October i.e. tomorrow 2024, Thursday. Diwali festival is a special ritual for the worship of Goddess Lakshmi.

It is believed that worshiping Lakshmi-Ganesh during Diwali puja brings blessings to the house throughout the year. At the same time, it is believed in astrology that Aarti of Goddess Lakshmi should not be done after worship, whereas most of the people perform Aarti of Goddess Lakshmi on this day. Let us know whether performing Aarti of Goddess Lakshmi during Diwali puja is right or wrong.

Know why Goddess Lakshmi is not bid farewell

According to astrology, Goddess Lakshmi is invited into the house on the night of Diwali so that she resides in the house permanently throughout the year. According to religious beliefs, performing Aarti is considered the completion of the puja, which can be considered a sign of bidding farewell to Goddess Lakshmi.

Aarti is traditionally considered the concluding part of the puja, hence some people do not perform it during Lakshmi Puja.

Goddess Lakshmi should be prayed for permanent residence

Different parts of India have different customs and beliefs associated with Lakshmi Puja. In some areas it is believed that on the night of Diwali, Goddess Lakshmi should be worshiped with respect and stability and Aarti should be avoided so that she stays in the house permanently.

However, it completely depends on belief and faith and no definite harm has been reported from the religious point of view. This is a folk belief, in which people believe that Lakshmi ji’s aarti should not be performed. Many people follow this belief, while many people perform aarti and pray to Goddess Lakshmi for her permanent residence in the house.

Rather, Goddess Lakshmi should be worshiped as per the rituals on this day. If you wish, you can sing the mantra of Mata Lakshmi. Along with this, during the puja, you should wrap a whole betel nut in Mauli (Kalava) and keep it in the puja. After the puja, wrap this betel nut in a red cloth and keep it in your safe. She is the form of Mother Lakshmi. Also, whole coriander must be kept in the worship of Goddess Lakshmi.

Take a resolution before performing Aarti

If you want to perform Aarti after the worship of Goddess Lakshmi, then you can do it by taking a pledge that this Aarti is for the purpose of respectfully inviting Goddess Lakshmi, and not for bidding farewell.

Also, insist that Goddess Lakshmi resides permanently in your home. It depends on beliefs and faith, and most importantly you have faith and belief in your heart. The purpose of Lakshmi Puja is to bring happiness, prosperity and peace in your home.
