Jennifer Lopez’s unwavering mother inspires his wresteler son, Jharrel Jerome’s Anthony Robles
Jennifer Lopez and Jharrel Jerome star in debutant director William Goldenberg’s upcoming sports drama Unstoppable. Amazon MGM Studios dropped the trailer for the film, produced by Lopez’s actor-filmmaker husband, Ben Affleck. Goldenberg directed it from a screenplay by Eric Champnella, John Hindman, and Alex Harris, based on Anthony Robles’ autobiography Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion.
Unstoppable is the story of wrestler Anthony Robles (Jerome) who defied all odds to claim a national championship despite being born with one leg. Lopez plays his unwavering mother Judy, and Bobby Cannavale portrays the role of his father Rick. Also part of the star-studded cast are Don Cheadle as wrestling coach Shawn Charles and Michael Peña as coach Bobby Williams.
Goldenberg, best known as the editor of Affleck’s 2013 Oscar Best Picture winner Argomakes his directorial debut with this biopic. Also starring Robles himself as a character called Anthony Robles Double, the film is set to hit select theatres on December 06, 2024, before dropping on Prime Video on January 16 next year.
Fresh off her sci-fi venture AtlasLopez’s upcoming films include Bill Condon’s film Kiss of the Spider Womanbilled as a musical drama. The multi-hyphenate celebrity recently turned 55, and her birthday celebrations included a lavish Bridgerton-themed bash.
