Washington: Talks took place between America and India on the occasion of Diwali festival. A top US diplomat has said that the festival of lights, Diwali, reflects the shared values between India and the US. Speaking at a Diwali event, Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard Verma said, “I have spoken many times about the shared values between the United States and India, and that is really what binds us together.”
Former US Ambassador to India Verma said that there can be no better day than Diwali to celebrate the holiday. It is a festival that truly reflects our shared values. The event, organized by the US India Strategic and Partnership Forum (USISPF) at the Kennedy Center, was attended by senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, distinguished Americans of Indian origin and industry executives.

Recalling the moments of celebrating Diwali with his parents during his childhood days, Verma said that this festival of lights, our shared memories, our shared experiences and shared emotions are the many things that connect the people of both the countries. America called Diwali special
India's Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra praised President Joe Biden for opening the doors of the White House for Diwali celebrations. Kwatra said that this Diwali is special for me and us.
