National Unity Day is celebrated all over the country

Meanwhile, other dignitaries also paid tribute to Patel on his birth anniversary, which is observed as National Unity Day. Floral tributes were paid to the statue of India's first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister at Patel Chowk in New Delhi.


Born in Nadiad, Gujarat in 1875, Patel was an important figure in India's freedom struggle. Known for his exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to national integration, he is remembered as the “Iron Man of India”.


National Unity Day commemorates his efforts to integrate the various princely states into one nation and fosters a sense of unity among the people of India.


Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai and prisoner Sanjay Kumar and BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj also paid tribute to Sardar Patel at Patel Chowk.
