IPL 2025 Retention: LIVE Updates | Players retained and RTM cards left

The IPL franchises have officially released their eagerly anticipated retention list ahead of the 2025 players’ auction, scheduled to take place in Riyadh on November 24 and 25.

Attention now shifts to the marquee players who have been released by the ten teams in advance of this key event.

The deadline for all ten franchises to finalize their retention list was extented to 5:30 pm IST from the earlier cut off time of 5 pm IST.

Who is an uncapped played?

A cricketer is deemed uncapped if they have not played for their national team in any international format (T20I, ODI or Test). In the Indian context, a player who has not been part of the national team’s playing XI in the last five years or lacks a BCCI central contract is also classified as uncapped.

Rajasthan Royals (Retained players) – Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, Sandeep Sharma

No Right to Match (RTM) card left for the Royals.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (Retained players) – Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Yash Dayal

RCB are now left with three RTM cards.

Mumbai Indians (Retained players) – Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Tilak Verma

MI have only 1 RTM card remaining.

Punjab Kings (Retained players) – Shashank Singh, Prabhsimran Singh (both uncapped)

PBKS are left with four RTM cards.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (Retained players) – Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Heinrich Klaasen, Travis Head

SRH have only 1 RTM card remaining.

Gujarat Titans (Retained players) – Rashid Khan, Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, Rahul Tewatia, Shahrukh Khan

GT are now left with only one RTM card.

Chennai Super Kings (Retained players) – Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube, Matheesha Pathirana, MS Dhoni

CSK have 1 RTM card remaining.
