Latest News :- The Enforcement Directorate yesterday conducted raids for more than 6 hours in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mandya, Mangalore and other places in the land embezzlement case against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The Mysore Municipal Development Corporation (MUDA) allotted a replacement land to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to acquire the land owned by his wife Parvathi. A case of land embezzlement was registered against Siddaramaiah as the value of the land given in return was many times more than the value of the land acquired.
The matter is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate and Lokayukta. Siddaramaiah is the first person, his wife Parvati is the second person, elder brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy is the third person and younger brother-in-law Devaraj is the fourth person. Last week, enforcement officials had raided the Mysore house of younger brother-in-law Devaraj. Lokayukta police interrogated Parvati for more than 3 hours last Saturday.
In this case, enforcement officials yesterday raided the houses of close friends and relatives of Siddaramaiah, Mallikarjuna Swamy and Devaraj. The trial was conducted at 15 locations in Bengaluru, Mysore, Mandya and Mangalore. Enforcement department sources said that more than 70 officers conducted the search for more than 6 hours.
It is said that during the raid, the officials seized documents related to land allotment, house plot sale and construction contract in Mysuru City Development Corporation. Earlier, it seems that the authorities also conducted an investigation in connection with documents which were said to have gone missing from the Mysuru City Development Corporation office. A case has already been registered against Karnataka Rural Development Minister Bhairathi Suresh in this matter. Enforcement department sources said officials are also planning to interrogate him. This has created a stir in Karnataka politics.
