Andhra: Tragedy strikes on Diwali in Eluru, cracker bomb blast kills 1, injures 6

Eluru: A tragic incident unfolded on Diwali in Eluru district of Andhra Pradesh after an “onion bomb” exploded near the Gangamma temple on East Street, leading to the death of a man. The deceased has been identified as Sudhakar. Six others people were also severely injured in the incident.

Among the injured are Tabel Sai, Suvara Shashi, K Srinivasa Rao, SK Khadar, Suresh, and Satish. The explosion reportedly took place when an ‘onion cracker bomb’ sack being transported on a scooter scooter suddenly detonated.

As the scooter hit a pothole, the bombs shifted and fell back into the sack, triggering an explosion. The intense blast caused the man seated at the rear of the vehicle to sustain fatal injuries, with parts of his body severely impacted.

After receiving information, Eluru DSP Shravan Kumar, One-Town CI Satyanarayana, and SI Madina Basha rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to Eluru Government Hospital for treatment.
