Ingredients to make Paneer Butter Masala

Paneer pieces – 2 cups
Onion – 2
Tomato – 3-4
Garlic – 3-4 cloves
Cashews – 2 tbsp
Milk – 1/2 cup
Bay leaf – 1
Green chilli – 2
Ginger – 1/2 inch piece
Kasuri Methi – 2 tsp
Cream/Malai – 2 tbsp
Coriander powder – 1 tablespoon
Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
Butter – 2 tbsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Oil – 2 tbsp
Salt – as per taste

How to make Paneer Butter Masala

To make Paneer Butter Masala, first take the paneer and cut it into one inch pieces. After this, put onion, ginger and garlic in a mixer jar and grind them to prepare a paste. Meanwhile, soak cashews in water and keep it for 15 minutes. After the stipulated time, put the cashews in the mixer and grind them by adding a little water on top. After this, boil the tomato and then grind it and prepare puree.

Now add oil and butter in a pan and heat both together on medium flame. When the butter melts and becomes hot, add bay leaf and onion paste, mix and fry until the onion skin turns light brown. It may take 3-4 minutes for this to happen. After this add long chopped green chillies in it. After cooking for a few seconds, add cashew paste, mix and fry well.

After mixing the cashew paste with a spoon, fry for 2 minutes. After this, add tomato puree to it and fry the gravy until it starts leaving oil. It will take 4-5 minutes for the gravy to release oil. Then add coriander powder and garam masala and mix well. Now mix half cup milk and half cup water. Cook it while stirring it with a spoon until the oil comes to the surface.

When oil starts appearing on top of the gravy, add the paneer pieces and mix them well with the gravy with the help of a spoon. After this, take Kasuri fenugreek and grind it with hands and add it to the vegetable and mix it. Now cover the pan and cook the vegetable until the gravy becomes thick. After this turn off the gas. Put fresh cream on top. Tasty Paneer Butter Masala is ready. Serve it with paratha, naan.
