Like Bihar, now the bridge broke and collapsed here too, the Chief Minister himself had laid the foundation stone.
Uttarakhand Bridge Collapse: We have often heard and read about incidents of bridge collapse in Bihar. Such cases have been continuously seen from different areas here, but this time a similar case has come to light from Roorkee, Uttarakhand. Here the iron bridge being built on the Ganganahar suddenly collapsed and sank into the Ganganahar. Although, fortunately no one was injured in this accident, but this incident has definitely become a new reason.
According to the information, the whole matter is of Peerbaba Colony of Roorkee. The bridge being built to connect Roorkee railway station from here broke and fell into the Ganga river. In fact, after the efforts of Roorkee BJP MLA Pradeep Batra, a bridge was being built from Peerbaba Colony situated on the banks of Ganga river to the railway station. If this bridge had been built, it would have provided great relief to the people of the area, but meanwhile on Thursday, this bridge collapsed in the gushing Ganganahar during construction.
The responsibility was on the Public Works Department
When this bridge collapsed, opposition parties targeted the Dhami government. Congress leaders took a dig at Dhami government and MLA Pradeep Batra and talked about corruption. The foundation stone of this bridge was laid by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in 2023. The Public Works Department had got the responsibility of building this bridge. Recently, when the water in Ganganahar was stopped, the construction of the bridge gained momentum. The structure of the bridge was prepared by the concerned contractor and tied over the canal.
An accident also happened in 2012
It was told that on the night of October 30, the said bridge fell into the water as water entered the canal. Fortunately, there was no loss of life or property in this accident, but the accident refreshed the bridge accident of 2012. The structure of the bridge built in front of the Municipal Corporation was also washed away in a similar manner, in which four laborers were also swept away in the water along with the bridge. In this regard, Executive Engineer of Public Works Department, Vipul Saini says that there is no damage to the bridge. The bridge has fallen down due to a wire opening. The goods are safe.
