Only 2 players retained as the squad is set for major overhaul
IPL franchise Punjab Kings (PBKS) made a surprise move by retaining only 2 players ahead of the 2025 IPL mega auction. Prabhsimran Singh and Shashank Singh are the only 2 players who are confirmed to play in the franchise in the upcoming season so far.
Rest of the squad has been released which includes Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh who was among the star performers for the franchise in the past few seasons.
It is safe to say that PBKS will have to go all out in the upcoming mega auction and will basically have to form an entire new squad. However, the Punjab-based franchise will enter the auction with over Rs 100 crore as their purse which is far more than any other franchise.
It will be interesting to see on what player would PBKS use their Right to Match card (RTM) and what players they would go after in the mega auction which will reportedly be held in November.
