Shreyas Iyer out, Shahrukh Khan opens the safe for Rinku Singh – Read

Kolkata Knight Riders has announced the retained players for IPL 2025. KKR has retained 6 players. The big news is that KKR did not retain its captain Shreyas Iyer. The team became champion under the captaincy of this player and now he is out of the team. KKR took a surprising decision and retained Rinku Singh first and he also got the most money. Apart from them, two young Indian cricketers have also been retained.

Retained players for KKR

KKR has retained 6 players out of which Rinku Singh has received the highest amount of Rs 13 crore. Rinku Singh was playing for KKR for very less money for the last several years but now his luck has improved. Apart from Rinku, KKR has retained Varun Chakraborty for Rs 12 crore. KKR has retained Sunil Narine for 12 crores. Andre Russell has also been retained for Rs 12 crores. Earlier there were reports that Russell was not being retained but at the last moment KKR changed the game. Apart from these, fast bowler Harshit Rana has been retained by KKR for Rs 4 crore. This player has been selected in Team India for the Australia tour. All-rounder Ramandeep Singh has also been retained for Rs 4 crore, who has got a place in Team India for the South Africa tour.

KKR excluded many big players

KKR has excluded players like Mitchell Starc, Nitish Rana, Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Venkatesh Iyer was also not in the KKR team. These players were an important part of the KKR team last season. Venkatesh Iyer had batted amazingly in the playoffs.
