The franchise retained a total of five players, including captain Hardik Pandya, former captain Rohit Sharma, star batter Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. With this list, Mumbai put an end to the rumour of Rohit Sharma being released.
Mumbai retained Rohit Sharma. Apart from this, Hardik Pandya was also part of the team’s retention list. It is worth noting that MI decided to retain all the capped players.
Players retained: Jasprit Bumrah (INR 18 crore), Suryakumar Yadav (INR 16.35 crore), Hardik Pandya (INR 16.35 crore), Rohit Sharma (INR 16.30 crore), Tilak Varma (INR 8 crore)
As you can see Jasprit Bumrah is the most expensive player among both Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya in the Mumbai Indians campaign for IPL 2025. The star player has always been the impact cricketer for the Hardik Pandya-led side.
45 crores left in purse:
After retaining five players in IPL 2025, Mumbai now has only Rs 45 crore left in its purse. Now the Mumbai team will enter the mega auction of IPL 2025 with a purse of Rs 45 crore.

Mumbai made a post on the players retained by Mumbai. In the post, Mumbai shared a picture of Rohit Sharma, Jaspreet Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma together.
