Jammu Kashmir: Soldiers celebrated Diwali on LOC, gave message for countrymen

Srinagar: Indian Army soldiers celebrated the festival of Diwali away from home along the Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday evening. The soldiers celebrated the festival by performing Diwali puja, dancing, singing songs and bursting crackers.

Talking to a news agency, a soldier said, “Today we are celebrating Diwali with our other families, army personnel. We are away from our families.” He said that I appeal to all my countrymen not to worry about anything. Happy Diwali to all from the Indian Army. We are here, protecting the border.”

While wishing the countrymen a happy Diwali, another soldier said that we want to assure our people that we stand firmly on the LOC. Celebrate the festival with your families.” He further said that the army is our home. We spend ten months here and go on vacation for the remaining two months. We live with the other soldiers like our family.

Emotional soldier gave message to the country

Another soldier in India's defense got emotional and said that we miss our families, but we are happy to celebrate Diwali here. I want to tell my countrymen to celebrate Diwali at home. Celebrate Diwali with family.

Diwali is a symbol of unity and light

The festival of Diwali is going to be celebrated in the country on 31st October. With which the festival begins with Dhanteras. Diwali, known as the 'Festival of Light', symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. This five-day festival starts with Dhanteras and ends with Bhai Dooj. Families decorate their homes with lamps. They distribute sweets and enjoy this festival together with joy, which is a symbol of unity and hope.
